Monte Berico is a church set at the top of a hill in Vicenza, Italy. There are people who attend church services here every Sunday because this is where their parents and their grandparents and their great grandparents attended.
To me, it’s one of the prettiest churches here I’ve seen so far. It’s nothing grand and it doesn’t exude a lot of power, but whenever I photograph up at Berico, I always catch myself going a little early to shoot the people who come for services, for reverence and the like.
This past Sunday it was packed with people. Most were attending church and there was a blood drive going on as well. There was a vendor selling Jesus images and because of how warm it was, almost everyone had some gelato in hand.
If you ever come to visit Italy, make sure you stop in Vicenza. It’s worth a day out of your trip for sure.
